Karate-DÕ Karate is broken into two words "Kara" and "Te". "Kara" means empty and "Te" means hand. So Karate means empty hand the "DÕ" in the word means a way of life.
So putting all those together the word means the way of the empty-hand.About the clubWe at the Castlegar Shotokan Karate club train two nights a week. We train Monday and Wednesday at the kinnard elementary School from 6:45pm-9:00pm.The cost is $25 per month. The club offers useful training for all people interested. Our instructor is Sensei Maurice Doucet and he is a 3rd degree black belt. We have great senior students (higher ranking students) who are always willing to help the newer students.Our class offers a friendly environment that is excellent for learning and improving your skills.
